Blogger or BlogSpot -- How to change blogger post permalink or already published post permalink.

 

What is permalink? Permalink also called permanent link, before you published your post, you have to careful about your permalink. Permalink should be understandable text, because when anyone looks at your post link through any search engine, they should immediately understand about your post.




 How can you setup a custom permalink? Permalink generally generate automatically. But if you think automatic permalink isn’t good enough, then you can set your own custom permalink. Before you published your post or page, click permalink, which is on your post settings sidebar. Automatic permalink already selected for you, just click custom permalink. And then change the text of your custom permalink. You have to follow simple rule, when you edit permalink-   Put dash “-“ after every keyword like “My-first-post” Now you can published your post.


After published post add permalink.


You may be already published so many post, but now you realize that your post permalink is not good enough. So now you want to change your post permalink. But how. It’s also important that if your permalink is good, then you can get more advantage from Google or any other search engine:-  Now I will tell you  how you can do this.

 

v How to change permalink after published post, it’s very easy.

v First open your blog dashboard.

v Open that post you want change permalink.

v Clicks revert to draft. And then refresh that page. That’s it.

v Now you can edit your custom permalink. 


Most important, before you edit your permalink you have to copy your old permalink and save it, in any text file. If, you think your old permalink still receive some traffic, otherwise not need to save.

 

If old permalink still receive some traffic and also it’s still in Google search engine, in that case if anyone clicked on your old permalink, through Google search engine, it will show error. So how can you fix this problem? We have a very easy solution. Just redirect old permalink to new permalink.


v  Go to your blog dashboard. 


v Click on settings.

v You will see error and redirect option.

v Click custom redirects

v click add button

v Now paste your old permalink.  1st box and new permalink 2nd box. Now here little bit careful. No need to put whole link, just put after domain name portion. Example.  https://www.internetserver.top/2020/09/add-read-more-buttons-blogger-blogspot.html

v No need to put red text just put green text. Now save it.
