How to migrate WordPress from Blogger.
Many have
been using Blogger for a very long time. Those who use WordPress, they get many
benefits like they can use many types of plugins, their own scripts, etc. You
can decorate WordPress as you like.
But Blogger does not have such features. Which is why many
people want to migrate from Blogger to WordPress. Today I will show you how to
migrate from Blogger to WordPress. The rules are simple but a little tricky.
First step :- Copy
all posts and pages from Blogger.
v Go to your
Blogger Dashboard.
v Click on the theme
and then click on backup.
v Download your
backup file.
v Put it in a safe
folder on your computer.
Second Step :- Custom
domain name server needs to be changed.
v If you don’t
have a custom domain, ignore this step.
v Go to the Custom
Domains dashboard.
v Click on Nameserver.
v Now here you enter the name of your web host Nameserver, the Webhost with which you want to host your WordPress.
Example – ns1. pananames.com, ns2. pananames.com
v Save it.
Third Step :- Setup WordPress.
v Go to the WordPress
dashboard.
v Click on
toos>Import
v Clicks on Install
now > Blogger.
v Click on Run
importer >> after installation.
v Upload the file
you downloaded from Blogger.
v Change the
author's name if you want.
Fourth Step :- Redirect
the old permalink to the new permalink.
v Go to Settings
then click on Permalink.
v Select the
permalink of your choice. But the best is just post permalink. Select post name
permalink. Save it.
v Click on add new
plugin.
v Install the Redirection
Plugin and activate it.
v Finish the setup
by clicking on the redirection.
v Now click on Add
New.
v Put the
permalink of your blogger post in the source URL.
v And put the
WordPress permalink in the target URL, same post.
v Click on Add
Redirect.
v Example :-
Blogger permalink = internetserver.top/2020/09/how-many-countries-in-world.html
v And Wordpress
permalink = internetserver.top/how-many-countries-in-world
v So blogger
permalink redirects to your new WordPress permalink.
v Why Permalinks
need to be redirected. Because if your blog is new, then there is no need to
redirect. But if your blog is old then you need to redirect it. Because your
blog posts have already gone to search engines. So if someone clicks on that
post, it will show an error. And you will be deprived of a lot of traffic.
